Nagpur: The Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) seized 505 kg ganja after intercepting a truck near Mathani toll plaza, under Mauda police station limits in Nagpur rural police area on Monday. The consignment, packed in black plastic sacks, was hidden beneath piles of construction rods, iron bars, and steel materials to evade detection. The truck started its journey from Odisha’s Ayanakot, heading south. The ANTF shadowed the truck across state borders until it crossed into its jurisdiction. At Mathani toll plaza, they intercepted the vehicle and detained its driver and his helper. Both were taken to Mauda police station, where a case was registered under the NDPS Act. The duo is being questioned about the suppliers, route, and buyers. The seized ganja, still moist and pungent, filled dozens of sacks and was destined for coastal cities or beyond. Sources say it is a preferred route for Odisha-based smugglers.
