Chennai: Raising doubts over the tender process adopted by DMK govt, AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said all the tenders for projects issued “in haste” ahead of the assembly elections would be “thoroughly scrutinised when AIADMK returns to power”.“People are being deceived. With elections approaching, it is all about commission, collection and corruption,” EPS said at a public meeting in Chrompet on Thursday, accusing state govt of hurriedly issuing tenders for projects. EPS rejected chief minister M K Stalin’s claim that the assembly election was a contest between Tamil Nadu and Delhi. “This is a Tamil Nadu assembly election. The parliamentary election ended in 2024. The choice now is about who should govern the state,” he said.He also accused DMK of using official events for political messaging and said politics should be confined to party platforms. “If you want to speak politics, do it at party meetings,” he said.Concluding, EPS said voters should assess the performance of successive govts and decide. “Talk about our 10 years from 2011 to 2021 and your years in power. Let the people give their verdict,” he said.Meanwhile, EPS began meeting smaller NDA allies, including A C Shanmugham, John Pandian and Paarivendar, to assess their seat demands ahead of formal talks.
