Ahmedabad: With the Model Code of Conduct now in effect for the forthcoming local body elections in Gujarat, the Ahmedabad collector’s office has launched a centralized ‘single window system’. This new administrative hub is designed to simplify how political parties and candidates obtain mandatory clearances for public meetings and processions ahead of the April polls. The implementation follows the Gujarat State Election Commission’s April 1 announcement regarding general and byelections for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, district panchayat, taluka panchayat, and various municipalities. This dedicated system ensures that all candidates and political parties can navigate the regulatory requirements of the election process efficiently. By consolidating the approval process into a single location, the collector’s office aims to facilitate the orderly conduct of public gatherings and election-related events throughout the city and district. All contesting parties are now required to utilize this centralized facility to secure the necessary legal permissions for their campaign activities.
