Ahmedabad: Due to the impact of the Western Disturbance, the city’s maximum temperature remained below normal. On Thursday, the maximum temperature was 35.7°C, which was 3.3 degrees below normal. At 23.9°C, the minimum temperature was 0.7 degrees above normal. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast, the maximum temperature in the city on Friday is likely to be around 36°C.According to the IMD bulletin, an upper-air cyclonic circulation over southeast Rajasthan and neighbourhood, and Western Disturbance as a trough in middle-level tropical westerlies, persisted on Thursday.The IMD forecast for Gujarat indicated a gradual rise of 2-4 degrees in maximum temperatures during the next four days. Afterwards, the temperatures are likely to be stabilised. From April 11 to 15, the discomfort caused by hot and humid air is likely to prevail across the coastal areas of Gujarat, according to the forecast.At 37.1°C, Rajkot had the highest maximum temperature on Thursday, followed by 37°C in Surendranagar, 36.2°C in Kandla, and 36.1°C in Amreli, among others.
