Ahmedabad: The Outgrowth Area Master Planning is underway for areas adjacent to and outside the boundaries of Ahmedabad city. These include peri-urban (hybrid land use) villages, industrial areas, townships, institutional campuses, and housing societies.A deputy municipal commissioner from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation was appointed as the nodal officer for this planning.
The nodal officer will work in coordination with relevant departments and follow the state govt’s guidelines.Areas developed or under development outside Ahmedabad’s boundaries were designated as Outgrowth Areas.The aim behind developing these areas is to plan for urban boundary expansion, infrastructure creation, integration with the municipal city, improvement of the quality of life, and maintenance of sustainable urban growth.Work on road networks, stormwater networks, water supply, sewage networks, and urban amenities such as footpaths, public spaces, and traffic management will be undertaken in the Outgrowth Areas.A detailed project report will be prepared for Outgrowth Area Master Planning.
