Ahmedabad: A total of 255 students received their degrees at the 31st convocation of MICA on Saturday evening. Sushant Dash, the CEO of Tata Starbucks and a MICA alumnus from the 1996 batch, was the chief guest at the event. In his speech, Dash said that brilliance is merely a starting point. “Talent is common, alignment is rare, and excellence is a team sport,” he said. “Chase sparks, they are important. But build discipline, that is what will keep success.” He encouraged the Class of 2026 to prioritize purpose over prestige during their foundational career years. “Embrace simplicity in problem-solving rather than gravitating toward unnecessary complexity,” Dash said. “Cultivate sound judgment, because it is the most irreplaceable human skill as AI democratizes knowledge.” The graduating students included 152 from PGDMC, 49 from PGDM, 48 from CCC and six from FPM programmes. Prof Ruchi Tewari, the CMO at MICA, said that this year’s batch was eclectic with students from different walks of life. For example, Dhruvam Nanavati held an MBBS degree before earning the PGDM. Jaya Deshmukh, the director and CEO of MICA, said that the vision of the institute is anchored in creativity, culture, communication, commerce and community through the MICA lens. Summer placements saw a 31% rise, institute officials indicated, with the final placement process continuing with strong momentum, having already engaged over 130 companies. Officials said the highest package is Rs 45.7 lakh, offered by Google.
