Srinagar, May 24: Traffic Police Rural Kashmir on Sunday issued a detailed traffic advisory ahead of a mega “Padh Yatra” scheduled to be held in Bandipora town on May 25 under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan.

According to the office of the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Traffic Rural Kashmir, vehicular movement along the stretch from Aloosa Bridge Bandipora to Nasoo Bus Stand Crossing will remain suspended from 4:00 am to 3:00 pm in view of the large public gathering and related activities.

Officials said traffic originating from Gurez and heading towards Srinagar, Sopore and Baramulla will be diverted through Sonarwani Bridge, Wangam, Koil Muqam and Sopore towards Baramulla and Srinagar, and vice versa.

The advisory further stated that traffic movement on the Ganderbal–Bandipora route via Pandach, T-Chowk, Barsoo, Ajas and Bandipora is also expected to witness disruptions during the programme hours.

Authorities have urged commuters to avoid non-essential travel on the affected routes and follow the diversion plans and instructions issued by traffic personnel deployed on the ground.

The Traffic Police said the advisory has been issued in public interest to ensure smooth conduct of the event and minimize inconvenience to the general public.
