Mysuru: Agniveer selection rally will be held at Chamundi Vihar Stadium in Nazarbad from April 19 to 27, to screen selected 6,235 candidates, said Colonel Vivek Jamdar, the recruitment officer of the Indian Army.Addressing a meeting of officials at the office of the department of youth services and sports, Colonel Jamdar said a written exam was conducted in June 2025 for the selection process of Agniveer, and the second phase (screening test) will commence on April 19.The rally will see participation from 6,043 male and 192 female candidates. Each day, 800 candidates will undergo physical and other tests. Only those who pass the physical test will proceed to the medical exam. The rally for female candidates is scheduled for April 27.Accommodation arrangements for the candidates participating in the rally have been made at the Nanjaraja Bahadur Chhatra. Only those selected in the physical test will attend the medical exam.On the day of the rally, arrangements for an ambulance, necessary doctors, staff and medicines will be provided by the health department. Mysuru City Corporation will ensure the supply of drinking water, temporary toilets, sanitation facilities, and the police department will manage security. Nirmithi Kendra will provide necessary tents and CCTV arrangements.High school students, NCC and NSS students will be allowed to witness the rally, providing them with insights into the selection process and sparking interest in joining the army. The school education department has been advised to write to facilitate student participation.Major Kapil Kumar Sharma, medical officer of Bengaluru Indian Army recruitment division, Subedar Major Shyam Singh, deputy recruitment officer, Manjunath Reddy, deputy director of the Sainik Welfare Department, Dr Gopinath from the health department, and Bhaskar, assistant director of the department of youth services and sports, were present.
