T’puram: Demonstrating a strong commitment to democratic values, a newlywed couple cast their votes shortly after their wedding ceremony on polling day.A L B Ashwanth and N Bindu of Kovalam, arrived at the polling booth at Vazhammuttom around 12.30pm, soon after their wedding held in the morning at the Subramanya Temple, Kunnumpara. Despite the long queue at the booth, the couple chose to wait patiently to exercise their franchise. However, with the auspicious muhurtham time approaching for the bride’s ceremonial entry into her new home, officials stepped in to assist them. The booth level officer escorted the couple and facilitated their voting, giving them special consideration due to the time constraints. Speaking after casting his vote, Ashwanth said that exercising their right to vote was a priority, even on such an important personal day. Their gesture was widely appreciated by voters and officials alike.
