Mysuru: HN Venkatesh, an advocate, on Saturday donated Rs 1 lakh and a desktop computer to his alma mater—a govt primary school at Hindagudlu village, in Hunsur taluk. He also provided computers to three other govt primary and high schools in Kiranguru education cluster.Additional deputy commissioner (ADC) P Shivaraj, who handed over the computer to Hindagudlu Govt School, Dasanapura Govt School and Doddahejjuru Govt School, stressed the importance of never forgetting one’s primary school and birthplace. The ADC said govt schools will develop if alumni contributed to their alma mater and acknowledged the cooperation of the villagers.DDPI D Uday Kumar said with proper guidance and training from teachers, children from rural areas can become excellent citizens like many from Hindagudlu village who are today working in various fields, including education sector.On the occasion, MD Harish Kumar Hegde, an advocate, pledged to donate Rs 51,000 for the purchase of sports equipment for Hindagudlu school.Venkatesh said that his father was born in this village and served as a teacher, contributing to the education of many others. Coming from such a family, he is committed to giving back to his birthplace.
