Vishvendu JaipuriarHazaribag: In a bid to prevent road accidents and strengthen traffic safety in the district, the Hazaribag district administration and district road safety team jointly inspected identified black spots and accident-prone locations on the directions of deputy commissioner Hemant Sati.The inspection team included the district transport officer, deputy superintendent of police (traffic), motor vehicle inspector (MVI) and members of the district road safety team. The team physically inspected various identified black spots and assessed the reasons behind frequent accidents.During the inspection, excessive speed of vehicles was found to be a major reason behind accidents in Masipirhi Chowk, Demotand and Morangi areas. At the accident-prone UP More, the team found a sharp slope and blind turn, increasing the possibility of accidents. The officials stressed the need for immediate safety measures at these locations.The joint team directed the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Ranchi, to install necessary signboards, rumble strips, blinkers and speed limit indicators at identified accident-prone spots and turns at the earliest. The move aims to alert drivers in advance and reduce accidents.
