Ahmedabad: The Admission Committee for Professional Courses (ACPC), Gujarat, has released key details regarding seat allocation, awareness initiatives, and the admission timeline for degree engineering courses for the academic year 2026–27. The announcement provides clarity to thousands of aspirants planning admissions to govt, self-financed and specialized engineering institutes across the state.According to the approved seat distribution policy, 95% of govt engineering seats will be filled through GujCET scores of students from Gujarat, while the remaining 5% will be allotted to candidates from across India based on JEE (Main) performance. In self-financed colleges, 50% of seats will be allocated through the ACPC centralized process, while the remaining seats will be filled at the institutional level. In addition, 25% of seats in centres of excellence (CoE) will be allotted according to specific admission rules prescribed for these institutes. To help students navigate the admission process smoothly, ACPC will conduct extensive awareness programmes from April 11. Around 52 offline sessions will be organized across districts, focusing on online registration, document verification and choice filling. Online webinars will also be hosted to address queries and explain procedures. According to the official schedule, the provisional merit list and final seat matrix will be published on June 12. Mock round choice filling will be held between June 12 and 15, with results announced on June 17, the same day the final merit list is released. The first round of actual admissions will run from June 17 to 22, with allotment results on June 25. Candidates must confirm admissions and pay fees between June 25 and 30, while the academic session begins on July 1.Meanwhile, the registration window for degree engineering courses for the new academic year will open on Wednesday. According to ACPC, students can apply online till May 31. The students will be applying for 78,611 seats: 10,957 in 16 govt and three grant-in-aid colleges; 156 seats in one autonomous institution; and a significant share in 120 self-financed colleges. Additionally, the state govt is expected to increase around 2,500 seats in govt colleges, with official confirmation to be announced soon.
