On seeing the police, the suspects attempted to hide the cash and cards but were overpowered. The police added that one of the suspects fled. The team seized Rs 4,35,550 in cash, two bundles of playing cards, and other items. A case under Sections 3 and 4 of the Delhi Public Gambling Act was registered against the accused. AAP, when asked about Singh said that in the past decade, BJP has created a situation where central govt agencies and its police register false cases every day against its political adversaries. Today, it’s difficult for anybody to comment on the merits of allegations if it comes from any agency under BJP control, it said. Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said that a new face of AAP leaders has emerged ever since the party lost power. Singh has been arrested by Delhi Police while gambling and organising illegal betting.Sachdeva asked if AAP’s Delhi president Saurabh Bharadwaj would expel the councillor from the party or would he once again dismiss it as a BJP conspiracy.Sachdeva said Singh is the same councillor who had brandished a revolver during the 2022 municipal election campaign and was caught on video.
