CHENNAI: Chief minister M K Stalin, TVK president C Joseph Vijay and other prominent politicians cast their votes at their respective polling booths across the state. Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Archana Patnaik cast her vote at a special booth at TAISHA in Virugambakkam. Stalin, along with Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin and family members, cast their votes at SIET College in Chennai. They stood in a queue before voting. Speaking to reporters, Stalin urged people to come out and exercise their democratic duty. “Tamil Nadu will win,” he said. Edappadi K Palaniswami cast his vote in Siluvampalayam in Salem district. Speaking to reporters, he said he was “100% confident” that AIADMK would win and form the government in 2026. Vijay cast his vote in Neelankarai. Unlike the previous election, he arrived by car to vote. Seeman, chief coordinator of NTK, also cast his vote along with his family in Neelankarai. He criticised the state government over a shortage of buses, saying many people could not travel to their native places to vote. Former Union finance minister P Chidambaram cast his vote in Karaikudi. Speaking to reporters, he said the DMK-led secular progressive alliance would form the government again. “People will choose steady growth, secular politics and welfare over others,” he said. DMDK treasurer Premallatha Vijayakant and youth wing secretary Vijaya Prabhakar cast their votes in Saligramam. PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss, along with his family, cast his vote in T Nagar. Speaking to reporters, he expressed confidence that the NDA would win. “This is the day of freedom for women, freedom for youth from drugs and freedom for poor people from the clutches of corruption. People are angry at DMK and our alliance will register a mega victory,” Anbumani said.
