Shimla: Chief minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, on the occasion of Himachal Day on Wednesday, conferred State-Level Awards 2026 upon distinguished individuals and institutions for their exceptional contributions and services across various fields, bringing pride to the state.The civil services award in the departmental or institutional category was presented to Mandi deputy commissioner, Apoorv Devgan, and the department of digital technology and governance. In the individual category, sub-divisional magistrate (civil), Balh in Mandi district, Smritika Negi, was honoured for her commendable service. Under the ‘Prerna Srot Samman’ in the individual category, Charu Sharma from Shimla district and Chhonzin Angmo from Kinnaur district were recognised for their inspiring achievements. In the group category, members of the Indian National Women’s Kabaddi Team — including Ritu Negi, Sakshi Sharma, Pushpa, Bhawna Devi and Champa Thakur — were honoured for their outstanding performance. The department of urology at AIMSS Chamiyana Hospital also received recognition under this category. The Himachal Gaurav Award (individual category) was conferred upon Padma Shri awardee Prem Lal Gautam of Bilaspur, principal of AIMSS Chamiana Dr Brij Sharma, Dr OP Sharma of Hamirpur, Harleen Kaur of Shimla, and Snehlata of Bilaspur for their notable contributions in their respective domains. Additionally, district-level awards were presented to police personnel and public works department officials from Kinnaur for their exemplary services. During the ceremony, the CM distributed land ownership documents (patta) to 24 families under the Forest Rights Act. A financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh each was also provided to nine beneficiaries under the building and other construction workers welfare board as the first instalment for house construction.
