New Delhi: A temporary shutdown of the Chandrawal Water Works-II pump house for urgent maintenance on April 15 is expected to impact water supply in several areas of Delhi. The shutdown will commence at 10 am and continue for six hours.Delhi Jal Board on Wednesday said that the repair work is essential to ensure the smooth functioning of the water supply system. “Potable water supply from the Chandrawal facility will be affected or available at low pressure on April 15 and 16 in multiple areas,” it stated in a notice.The localities that are likely to experience disruptions include Civil Lines, Hindu Rao Hospital, Kamla Nagar, Shakti Nagar, Karol Bagh, Paharganj, NDMC colonies, Old and New Rajendra Nagar, Patel Nagar (East and West), Baljeet Nagar, Prem Nagar and Inderpuri. Parts of Delhi Cantonment and South Delhi are also expected to face water supply issues.The agency has urged residents to make judicious use of water during the shutdown period. It has also advised citizens to store adequate water in advance to avoid inconvenience. In case of emergencies, water tankers will be available on request, and residents can contact the DJB’s helpline at 1916 for assistance.
