Bhubaneswar: In a bid to raise awareness about Nari Shakti Adhiniyam, college students on Tuesday staged street plays highlighting women’s empowerment and the need for greater political representation.The women’s reservation Bill seeks to ensure 33% quota for them in Parliament and state legislative assemblies. A special discussion on its implementation is scheduled in Parliament from April 16 to 18.Against this backdrop, students from BJB Autonomous College, Rama Devi Women’s University, Rajdhani College and Kamala Nehru Women’s College performed street plays at prominent public locations across Bhubaneswar. Around 32 students took part, using theatre as a medium to communicate the significance of the legislation and the broader message of gender equality and empowerment. TNN
