Ludhiana: Keeping a strict vigil on development works, Municipal Corporation (MC) Commissioner Neeru Katyal Gupta conducted on-ground inspections to review ongoing projects aimed at developing green belts, parks, and other infrastructure in the Focal Point areas. The inspections were conducted across Phase 4, Phase 7, and Phase 8 (spanning 34 acres) of Focal Point, where various initiatives are underway to redevelop the local green cover and civic infrastructure.MC Joint Commissioner Vineet Kumar, Superintending Engineer Praveen Singla, and SDO Baljinder Singh, along with other officials, were present during the inspection. Civic body officials shared that various projects worth crores, including those for developing parks, road reconstruction, and street lights, are either currently in progress or are in the pipeline. During the inspection, the officials also deliberated upon those projects, and MC Commissioner Dr. Gupta issued specific directions to expedite the same.While stating that the civic body is developing the green belts and parks in different parts of Focal Point, MC Commissioner Gupta appealed to the local industrialists to step forward and adopt the green belts in their surrounding areas. MC Commissioner Gupta stated that a large number of development works are going on in the city and senior officials are regularly taking stock of the situation at the ground level. Strict directions have been issued to ensure good quality work and the projects should be completed within the stipulated time period. This proactive approach aims to ensure that the industrial hubs receive a significant infrastructure boost while maintaining environmental standards through community and industrial participation.
