Ahmedabad: Panic gripped parts of Vastral on Sunday after a crude oil pipeline leak was reported near Hareshwar Arcade, behind an RAF camp. Officials from Ahmedabad Fire and Emergency Services (AFES) said the leak occurred in an ONGC pipeline, leading to crude oil gushing out on open land and roads nearby.AFES officials said teams rushed to the spot along with ONGC’s technical staff, and immediate steps were taken to prevent any hazard given the highly inflammable nature of crude oil. Police cordoned off the area and diverted traffic, temporarily closing the road towards Hareshwar Arcade. Fire officials confirmed that no injuries were reported. TNN
