Chandigarh: The Combined Defence Services (CDS) and National Defence Academy (NDA) examinations were conducted across Chandigarh on Sunday. At Sector 35, complaints about confusion over venues and early closure of gates was received from an exam centre. According to Anil Kumar, convener in Chandigarh, around 7,000 candidates were scheduled to appear for the CDS examination, which was held in three sessions across 20 schools. The NDA examination, conducted in two sessions, had approximately 1,400 candidates appearing across 38 schools in the city.The examinations were held under standard guidelines, with candidates required to report before the scheduled start time. Entry to examination centres is typically closed 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the exam.In Sector 35, some candidates and parents reported confusion due to the presence of two govt schools in proximity, which they said made it difficult to locate the correct centre on time.An aggrieved parent from Panchkula, who accompanied her daughter for the exam, alleged that the gates of Govt Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 35-D, were closed at around 8:25am, earlier than the stipulated closing time of 8:30am. The parent stated that a complaint has been submitted to the authorities.Responding to the allegation, school principal Seema Grover denied that the gates were closed before the prescribed time and said that due procedure was followed. No official statement regarding the complaints was issued by authorities at the time of reporting.
