Guwahati: Assam Police on Saturday issued a summon notice to Assam Jatiya Parishad’s (AJP) Guwahati Central candidate Kunki Chowdhury in connection with alleged violation of the model code of conduct (MCC) during polling.“During the investigation, it was found that there are ‘reasonable grounds’ to question Chowdhury to ascertain facts and circumstances that relate to the case,” the notice read.The notice also directs Kunki to appear before the officer at 11 am on Sunday.The notice lays down a series of conditions that she has to comply with, including cooperating with the investigation, not tampering with evidence, refraining from influencing witnesses and additionally, she has also been instructed to provide all relevant documents and disclose information truthfully to assist the investigation. The notice also warns her against any attempt to destroy evidence or obstruct the legal process.“Failure to attend/comply with the terms of this notice can render you liable for arrest under Section 35 with sub-section (5) and (6) of BNSS,” the notice added.The FIR was lodged by one Naba Kumar Lahkar (38) at the Panbazar police station.
