Ranchi: Health minister Irfan Ansari on Saturday said that around 42,000 sahiyas (Asha workers) will be provided tablets within a month to facilitate real-time data collection and monitoring.Speaking at a programme organised by National Health Mission (NHM) here on National Safe Motherhood Day on Saturday, Ansari said, “No woman should lose her life while giving birth. Bringing the maternal mortality rate close to zero is our commitment, and maternal and child health remains the govt’s highest priority.”He said a mega screening campaign for anaemia, thalassaemia, sickle cell disease, and malnutrition among women and children is being carried out along with continued support for services such as Mamta Vahan to ensure timely transportation of pregnant women to health facilities.“Jharkhand stands third in health services in the country, but our aim is to make it no. 1. The govt is focusing on adolescent girls’ education, promoting marriage after the age of 18, and controlling anaemia to ensure healthier pregnancies and births,” Ansari said.
