Prayagraj: Governor and chancellor Anandiben Patel on Saturday emphasised the need for quality education, innovation and strong moral values among students.“Students must think beyond personal goals and contribute to nation-building as the youth represent the aspirations of millions. They must focus on innovation, research and creativity instead of limiting themselves to conventional employment opportunities,” she said while inaugurating 25 new academic facilities at Prof Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) University in Prayagraj.Addressing students and faculty, she stressed that educational infrastructure must not only be modern but also effectively utilised, particularly laboratories, to promote practical learning.She called for improvements in the evaluation system to make it more transparent and outcome-oriented.Highlighting global challenges, she underlined the importance of self-reliance and said India is rapidly progressing in areas like artificial intelligence and semiconductors.“Such advancements reflect the country’s growing technological strength and confidence on the global stage,” she said.She also emphasised the need to balance technological growth with ethical values, urging students to remain morally strong while becoming technically skilled.“The present decade is a blend of challenges and opportunities, and students must not only adapt to changing times but also lead to transformation,” Patel said.The governor also encouraged parents to stay involved in their children’s education and monitor their progress.She also inspected newly developed laboratories, smart classrooms and other facilities, describing them as crucial for the holistic development of students.Vice-chancellor Akhilesh Kumar Singh said the governor’s guidance has been a constant source of inspiration for the university’s growth in education, research and innovation.He noted that the newly inaugurated facilities would strengthen academic infrastructure in line with the National Education Policy and help students develop skills in research, analysis, and innovation.
