The ED team, accompanied by CAPF, today reached Chatterjee’s residence after he reportedly missed summons recently.
Chatterjee, along with her close aide Arpita Chatterjee, was arrested in July 2022 in connection the School Service Commission teachers’ recruitment corruption case in West Bengal.

His close aide, Arpita Mukherjee, was also arrested after heaps of cash and ornaments were found from her apartment. However, both received bail and continue to be out of jail.
Apart from ED, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also investigating the SSC recruitment corruption case.
In September last year, the Calcutta High Court granted bail to Partha Chatterjee. Despite the bail order, he was not released immediately due to a Supreme Court directive, saying Chatterjee be released only after the trial court completes the examination of material witnesses within two months. He was finally released from judicial custody on November 11, 2025.
Sujit Bose
State Minister Sujit Bose, who is also a Trinamool candidate from Bidhannagar Assembly Constituency seat, was summoned by the ED, but as he has been hospitalized, his son has appeared on his behalf. ED had summoned Bose twice before this but he had skipped both times.
