Bhilwara: Bhilwara police have arrested a suspect accused of sexually abusing a cow, tracking him by CCTV and train routes to Kishanganj in Bihar near the Bangladesh border, officials said.Bhilwara SP Dharmendra Singh said complainant Shivraj Gurjar filed a report at Kotwali police station on March 29, 2026, after seeing a social media video showing “an unknown person” committing an “unnatural act” with a cow outside his house. The video went viral and triggered outrage, with the complainant seeking the “strictest possible action” against the perpetrator.Police registered a case under Section 9 of the Rajasthan Bovine Animal Rules 1995 and Section 11 of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960.Police said the accused had earlier committed a similar act with a cow in the Bhimganj police station area of Bhilwara city. Three teams were formed under Bhilwara City DYSP Sajjan Singh to identify the suspect. Police checked about 1,500 CCTV cameras, including footage from shops, the railway station and the Abhay Command Centre, and circulated the suspect’s details to State Control, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) in Rajasthan and other states.Investigators said CCTV analysis showed the suspect arrived in Bhilwara by train, committed the crime and left by train. Teams checked compartments on about 40 trains arriving and departing daily from Bhilwara railway station and reviewed CCTV footage from stations including Bhilwara, Ajmer, Phulera, Jaipur, Medta, Sambhar, Jodhpur, Dausa, Bandikui, Bharatpur, Achhnera, Agra Fort, Agra Cantt, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur, Fatehpur, Prayagraj, Mirzapur and Asansol.Police said the trail led to Kishanganj in Bihar, where the suspect was detained at the railway station and later arrested. He was identified as 56-year-old Sanjay Kumar Sahu, son of Moti Sahu, a resident of Jharkhand.
