Mandya: The district has recorded a strong performance in the second PUC examinations, achieving a pass percentage of 88.8% and securing 12th rank in the state. The results mark a significant improvement for the district, which has steadily progressed in recent years. Compared to the previous year, Mandya has moved two places higher in state rankings, reflecting consistent efforts by students, teachers and educational institutions across the district. The district’s performance over the last few years shows a gradual upward trend. In 2022, Mandya recorded a pass percentage of 58.7% and stood at the 27th position in the state. The following year saw a considerable improvement, with the pass percentage rising to 77.4% and the district moving up to the 20th rank.In 2024, although the pass percentage increased further to 80.5%, Mandya slipped to the 24th position due to stronger performances by other districts. In 2025, the district climbed to the 14th rank with a pass percentage of 73.2% despite a general dip in results across the state. This year’s result of 88.9% is particularly notable as it represents the highest pass percentage recorded by Mandya district in the last two decades. Excluding the Covid-19 year of 2021, when all students were promoted and the district showed a 100% result, this stands as the best academic performance in the district’s recent history. Earlier, the highest pass percentage was recorded in 2024 at 80.5%, though the district ranked 24th at that time. The current result therefore sets a new academic benchmark for the district.Several students from the district have also emerged as top performers. TS Sahana of STG PU College, Chinakurali, secured 593 marks in Science stream with PCMC combination. Fayaz Alikhan of Carmel PU College in Mandya also scored 593 marks in Commerce stream. In the Science stream with PCMB combination, KY Sanjana of Mandavya Excellence College, Mandya, scored 592 marks, while KP Nishchitha of Aniketana PU College near Yeliyur Circle also secured 592 marks.Cheluvaiah C, DDPU, Mandya, said, “Focused preparation by students and the continuous support of teachers and parents.
