Chennai: Five persons, including two juveniles, were held by the R K Nagar police for theft of LPG cylinders and a water pump motor from a locked house in Korukkupet. While the three adult accused were remanded in judicial custody, the two juveniles were produced before the juvenile justice board (JJB) and later sent to the govt home for boys.Police said that Jayachitra, 39, had locked her parents’ house in Bharathi Nagar in Korukkupet on Mar 28 and returned on April 7, only to find that the rear door lock had been broken and two LPG cylinders and a water pump were missing. Acting on her complaint, the R K Nagar Police registered a case and arrested Shanmugam, 22, and Stephen alias Venkatesan, 19, both residents of Meenambal Nagar in Korukkupet, and Jegan, 19, of Grace Garden in Royapuram. The two juveniles, who were 16 and 17 years old, were also found to be involved in the offence.
