The popular 3D stealth game, ‘Metal Gear Solid’, is officially being turned into a movie! According to the reports, the beloved game will now be turned into a live-action film. Not only that, but the team behind the gruesome ‘Final Destination’ films will be backing it, raising the bar for expectation.
‘Metal Gear Solid’ to be turned into a live-action film
The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the news, stating the team behind the latest entry in the ‘Final Destination’ series, ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’, is going to be joining the project. Filmmakers Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein will lead the upcoming project under their newly launched company, which is currently under development. The original game itself was created by the legendary Hideo Kojima, who is also known for games like ‘Snatcher’, ‘Policenauts’, ‘Zone of the Enders’, and many other versions of ‘Metal Gear Solid.’The president of the production label behind the live action, Sanford Panitch, also issued a statement about the film and about how excited he is for the project. He stated, “Zach and Adam are thrilling storytellers, masters of visuals and suspense, and two of the most impressive director/producers working today. With projects across all the company’s film labels, we are so happy to create a home for them, and proud to have them as part of the Sony family.”The two directors also talked about the upcoming live action and shared, “Metal Gear Solid was nothing short of a groundbreaking cinematic masterpiece that forever revolutionized video games. We are thrilled and honored to bring Hideo Kojima’s iconic characters and unforgettable world to life.”In February, it was confirmed that the director duo would also work on the animated film for ‘Venom’.
About ‘Metal Gear Solid’
The premise of the video game revolves around Solid Snake, who infiltrates a nuclear weapons facility to neutralize FOXHOUND, a terrorist organization and special forces unit that is holding hostages and is about to launch a nuclear strike.
