Kanpur: A 40-year-old man, accused of killing his wife earlier this week, was found dead in Nagra village under Maharajpur police station limits on Thursday evening, police said.The deceased, identified as Haripal, was allegedly on the run after beating his wife Ramdevi (38) to death in Bhevli village on Monday.Police said villagers spotted his body hanging from a noose inside a room on Thursday evening and alerted the police. A team from Maharajpur police station reached the spot, sent the body for postmortem, and a forensic team collected evidence.According to police, Haripal had consumed alcohol on Monday and picked up a fight with his wife. He later allegedly assaulted her with a stick while she was working in the fields. Family members rushed Ramdevi to hospital, but she died on the way.Family members told police that Haripal frequently created disturbances at home due to his alcohol addiction.The couple is survived by two sons and two daughters.ACP Chakeri Abhishek Kumar Pandey said further investigation was underway.
