Mysuru: Chamundeshwari MLA GT Devegowda Thursday directed the officials of Hootagally city municipal council, and of Rammanahalli, Srirampura, Bogadhi and Kadakola town panchayats to take measures to tackle any drinking water crisis this summer.In a meeting with the officials, he directed that an uninterrupted supply of drinking water be provided from the Kabini and Melapura projects until the Hale Unduvadi project is completed.He also urged them to give priority to Vasanth Nagar, Manasi Layout, Sardar Vallabh Bai Patel Nagar, Venkateshwar Layout, and adjoining areas.He directed the repair of damaged drinking water borewells in Srirampura Town Panchayat limits and told the officials to attend to the underground drainage-related complaints on a priority basis.Meanwhile, DC Lakshmikanth Reddy directed the officials to redrill the defunct borewells. He said that, as per the agreement, out of 60 MLD of drinking water pumped from the Kabini drinking water project, 40 MLD is reserved for Mysuru City Corporation and 20 MLD is for ULBs under Chamundeshwari assembly segment and directed MCC to distribute the water as per the agreement.The DC directed the officials to penalise the people and trucks involved in illegal dumping. MCC commissioner Sheikh Tanveer Asif was present.
