The first rally will be held at a rally at the industrial township of Purba Medinipur district’s Haldia, followed by Paschim Bardhaman’s Asansol and then Suri in Birbhum district. Leader of Opposition and BJP sitting MLA from Nandigram Suvendu Adhikari hails from Purba Medinipur.
The two-phase Assembly polls in West Bengal will be on April 23 and April 29. In the first phase, voting will be for 152 Assembly constituencies, and in the second phase, the remaining 142 constituencies will go to the polls. The results will be declared on May 4
With BJP’s campaign reaching its peak in Bengal with the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and all central ministers and star campaigners reaching Bengal from all across the country, two weeks ahead of the first phase of assembly polls on April 23.
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, will launch BJP’s manifesto (Sankalpa Patra) tomorrow and there will be a packed campaign schedule for Friday.
The Prime Minister will address his first rally at the industrial township of Haldia in the East Midnapore district. Followed by Haldia rally, PM will be addressing two other consecutive rallies, the first at another industrial township of Asansol in Paschim Bardhaman and then Suri in Birbhum district.
Asansol is the first seat that BJP had won in 2014 and Babul Supriyo, handpicked by PM Narendra Modi, had contested from the seat. The sitting MLA from Asansol Dakshin is seeking reelection this year.Meanwhile, Shah, who is also arriving at Kolkata tonight, apart from Manifesto release, is likely to be addressing a mega rally at Paschim Medinipur’s Debra.
On Saturday, the Union Home Minister will address two rallies, first at Chhatna in Bankura district and then at Baghmundi in Purulia district.
On Saturday, the Prime Minister in West Bengal is likely to address three consecutive campaign rallies in Murshidabad district’s Jangipur, Purba Bardhaman’s Katwa, and South Dinajpur district’s Balurghat.
On April 12, PM is scheduled to participate in a road show at Siliguri town.
Earlier this month, the Prime Minister had kicked off his campaign programme and addressed a mega rally at Cooch Behar district’s Cooch Behar town.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee too has a packed schedule with five consecutive rallies at Minakhan, Noyapara, Panihati, Baranagar, and Rajarhat-Gopalpur, all in North 24 Parganas district.
