CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami dared chief minister M K Stalin on Wednesday to a debate on DMK govt’s achievements. “I am ready for an open debate on the achievements of your govt versus AIADMK govt. “Let the people deliver the judgment,” EPS said during his campaign at Kolathur, taking the poll fight to CM’s doorstep.EPS said Stalin was levelling charges that AIADMK did nothing during its tenure for the growth of TN. “As a CM, one should get the facts right before speaking. But he (Stalin) is throwing a challenge without knowing anything about the development projects implemented by us,” EPS said. “You fix the date, and I am ready to come,” Palaniswami said.Palaniswami argued that while the AIADMK rule braved cyclones and handled the COVID-19 pandemic, DMK govt generated an additional revenue of more than 1 lakh crore by not implementing development schemes. He said the revenue thus earned was falling into the “wrong hands” and added that once AIADMK returned to power, it will trace the money and distribute it to the people.Campaigning for PMK candidate M Thilagabama in Perumbur, he took a veiled swipe at TVK chief Vijay, asserting that Thilagabama would defeat those “boasting of popularity.”
