SALEM: Betrayal has become the identity of former chief minister and AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, and he is unfit to remain as leader of the opposition, DMK deputy general secretary and Tuticorin MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi said on Wednesday. She accused Palaniswami of betraying Tamil Nadu, his party and those who stood with him. “Former chief minister O Panneerselvam joined DMK because of Palaniswami’s actions,” she said.Kanimozhi made these comments while campaigning for DMK candidates R Rajendran and M Loganathan who are contesting in Salem North and Salem South constituencies, respectively. She criticised Palaniswami for his remarks about chief minister M K Stalin at an election campaign in Chennai’s T Nagar on Wednesday. EPS had said, “Stalin is afraid of Delhi” and “the people of Tamil Nadu are suffering under a govt led by someone who does not know how to govern.”Kanimozhi said Palaniswami, despite having served as chief minister and now as leader of the opposition, had spoken irresponsibly and without humanity. She alleged that during the Covid period, the AIADMK govt under Palaniswami had failed to protect the people while DMK had stood by them.
