MUMBAI: The postal dept Tuesday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bharat Diamond Bourse (BDB), located in BKC, offering multiple services for transporting precious cargo.The partnership will provide logistics facilities for export and import (exim) consignments and domestic parcels booked at the foreign post office situated in BDB units 1 and 2 at BKC. The dept will offer speed post, India Post parcel, logistics post services and media post to BDB.BDB receives a daily footfall of 45,000 people and has 3,500 offices, and will promote postal services for export-import within its complex for members and non-members. The MoU was signed by Pandurang Chormale, senior superintendent of India Post, and Anoop Mehta, BDB president. The arrangement may increase exports from BDB, claimed the postal dept.
