Ludhiana: The Khanna police have arrested two snatchers and recovered stolen motorcycles along with various tools used by them in carrying out criminal activities. The arrested individuals were identified as Vishal Singh and Shamshad Mohammad, both residents of Ikolaha village in Khanna. According to SHO Sadar inspector Sandeep Kumar, a police team led by sub-inspector Avtar Singh was conducting routine checking at Bija Chowk on April 2 when they received secret information regarding the accused, who had been involved in thefts and robberies for a long time.Acting on this tip-off, the police established a checkpoint and successfully apprehended the suspects. Following questioning, the police recovered two stolen motorcycles and specialised theft tools from their possession. During the interrogation, the accused reportedly “confessed” to snatching gold earrings from an elderly woman in collaboration with their accomplice, identified as Arshdeep Singh. Cops further stated that Arshdeep is currently evading arrest and efforts are underway to locate him. Their criminal activities also extended to other districts such as Mohali, Chandigarh, and Fatehgarh Sahib. Police officials noted that the recovered vehicles include a black Pulsar motorcycle without a registration number, stolen from Chandigarh, and a Hero Deluxe motorcycle stolen from Mandi Gobindgarh. Further investigation is currently underway to arrest the absconding accomplice.
