Shillong: CM and National People’s Party (NPP) president Conrad K Sangma, who leads the NPP-led Meghalaya Democratic Alliance (MDA) govt, campaigned for his party candidate in Assam on Monday.Sangma addressed a public rally on the theme ‘One Voice, One Northeast’ in Bongaigaon, urging the electorate to support NPP aspirant Ganseng B Sangma for the 28 Boko-Chaygaon (ST) assembly constituency.
“This election is the voice of the northeast, a voice that will resonate from Boko-Chaygaon today,” Sangma said.Maintaining that various national political parties have tried to “break the northeast and create divisions” for over seven decades now, Sangma urged the people to unite for a “northeast voice”, as was envisioned by his late father and political stalwart from the region, Purno A Sangma.
