Ahmedabad: Two healthcare products — dealing with treatment of piles and malnutrition among children — developed by a team from the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) Ahmedabad were adopted by the industry, said NIPER-A director Prof Shailendra Saraf. The innovations, based on herbal formulations, will be shared with Shree Divyanand Herbals Pvt Ltd under a technology transfer agreement. The innovations were developed by Dr Rakesh Tekade’s Lab at NIPER-A and Prof Swarnalata Saraf, dean, Pt Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur, said Dr Tekade. “The tech transfer is a step in the direction of implementation of research. We got good results for managing obesity and metabolic disorders among children and adolescents,” he added.
