Kanpur: One person was killed and three others were seriously injured during an axe attack in a clash in Bihar police station area of Unnao. Police sent the body for postmortem examination and detained several people for interrogation.According to police, a 21-year old woman had an affair with her neighbour. Around 12.30 pm on Saturday, the woman went to her lover’s house escalating tension between the two families.The woman’s family members reached the youth’s house and had an argument with his family. The argument soon turned violent with abuse and physical assault. The woman’s brother allegedly hit the youth’s 50-year-old father on his head with an axe. He sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.Later, three other members of the youth’s family reached the district hospital in an injured condition. The Bihar police arrived at the scene and sent the injured to the Community Health Centre Beeghapur by ambulance, where their treatment continued.Bihar SHO Rahul Singh said that both the sides belonged to the Lodh community, and the dispute escalated as they were against the couple’s relationship. Police sent the body for postmortem examination. Three people were taken into custody and are being interrogated, the SHO said.According to police officials, the role of other accused involved in the incident is also being investigated and legal action would be taken based on the written complaint. Police force was deployed as a precautionary measure.
