Nagpur: A truck driver allegedly hammered a 39-year-old pedestrian in a road rage incident at Samata Nagar under Kapilnagar police limits on April 2.The victim, Rajan Yadav, a resident of the area, was walking to work with two companions, Ayush Bansod and Kunal Kadbe, when a truck approached from behind between 8.30am and 9am near a grocery shop. The vehicle, which was being driven rashly while honking continuously, struck Yadav. He was immediately pulled to safety by another passerby, Gaurav Uike.An angry Yadav confronted the truck driver, identified as Pravin Bagde (30), a resident of Mhasala, over rash driving. Enraged, Bagde reportedly got down from the vehicle and allegedly attacked Yadav with a hammer.People present at the spot intervened and rushed Yadav to Mayo Hospital, where he later succumbed during treatment.Kapilnagar police have registered a case of culpable homicide under Sections 105 and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and arrested the truck driver.
