T’puram: CPM general secretary M A Baby said on Sunday that feedback from all districts indicated a favourable political climate for LDF. He said the assessment reflected not just party workers but also people outside the Left fold with whom he interacted.Rejecting allegations of a tacit understanding between CPM and BJP, Baby accused the Congress of hypocrisy. He said that in Thrissur, particularly Mathur panchayat, Congress and BJP-backed members are governing together. He alleged that Congress is sharing power in a panchayat with Twenty20, an ally of BJP.Criticizing the ideological roots of RSS, Baby referred to the writings of M S Golwalkar and said that while minorities such as Muslims and Christians are mentioned, communists alone are identified as enemies based on their political ideology. He alleged that an RSS leader in Madhya Pradesh had publicly offered a monetary reward for harming the chief minister, calling it a concern.Addressing the media at AKG Centre, he made a veiled reference to political developments in Thiruvananthapuram. He questioned who enabled the victory of a BJP leader in Nemom and who later ensured BJP’s defeat, suggesting that the public was aware of political shifts.Highlighting LDF govt’s performance, Baby said the primary issue before voters is the decade-long governance record of the Left, which he claimed had created history rooted in people’s lived experiences. He added that this development-oriented narrative would be central to the upcoming elections. At the same time, he accused the opposition of raising baseless allegations to divert attention from development issues. Addressing one such claim that CPM has a deal with BJP, Baby termed it absurd and said even Congress leaders have been repeating the charge. He referred to Union home minister Amit Shah’s remarks and alleged that he had spoken of eliminating various groups, including Maoists, as part of a broader political agenda.
