Planet Labs has announced an indefinite blackout on satellite imagery of Iran and the wider Middle East conflict zone after what it says was a U.S. government request to imagery providers. The company told customers it is retroactively withholding imagery from March 9, expanding an earlier 14-day publication delay, and shifting to a managed-access system under which images will only be released case by case for urgent, mission-critical, or public-interest needs.
