Bodh Gaya: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bodh Gaya, awarded degrees to 579 students, including its first batch of doctoral scholars, at its 8th annual convocation organised here on Saturday.Shri Ashishkumar Chauhan, MD and CEO of National Stock Exchange (NSE) of India, delivered the convocation address as chief guest. Highlighting Bihar’s rich historical legacy, he said that in an era of microsecond-driven financial markets and global disruptions, mindful and well-considered decision-making has become increasingly critical.Of the total graduates, 328 received MBA degrees, 86 MBA in digital business management (MBA-DBM), 101 MBA in hospital and healthcare management (MBA-HHM), and 60 BBA under the integrated programme in management (IPM). Four scholars were awarded PhD degrees, marking the first-ever doctoral convocation at the institute.The convocation was formally declared open virtually by L Ramkumar, chairperson-in-charge of the board of governors. IIM Bodh Gaya director Vinita S Sahay presented the institute’s annual report, describing 2025–26 as a year of unprecedented academic and institutional growth. She said the institute expanded its global footprint with partnerships across 43 international institutions, promoting student exchange, joint research and collaborative programmes spanning Europe, the US and Asia.Dr Sahay also highlighted strong placement outcomes, with 409 students securing final offers through campus recruitment. More than 180 companies participated in the placement process, including over 100 first-time recruiters. Consulting, IT services and analytics emerged as the top hiring sectors with over 130 offers, followed by BFSI with 110 offers. The highest domestic package touched Rs 30 lakh per annum, while international offers went up to Rs 45.63 lakh per annum.Major recruiters included Accenture, Deloitte, EY, PwC, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, SAP Labs, Axis Bank, HSBC India, ICICI Bank, NSE, BSE, Tata Power, Bharat Electronics Limited, Volvo Eicher, Piramal Foundation, Narayana Health, and William J Clinton Foundation, among others.Institute officials said the convocation reflected a year of expansion marked by record batch sizes, increased recruiter participation, first-time international placements and deeper global integration, further strengthening IIM Bodh Gaya’s position among emerging management institutions in the country.
