Jhansi: Vice-chancellor of Bundelkhand university Prof Mukesh Pandey inaugurated the one megawatt solar power plant at the university campus on Friday. Prof. Pandey said that the solar power project had been installed as per the standards set by the Renewable Energy Department . The plant is expected to generate approximately 1,20,000 units of electricity per month, resulting in an estimated annual savings of around Rs 1 crore for the university.The plant is expected to reduce approximately 11,38,800 kilograms of CO2 emissions annually, along with a substantial reduction in the overall carbon footprint, he said.The VC said, “This initiative marks a major milestone, making it one of the largest solar installations in any institution in the Bundelkhand region. ” tnn
