Bengaluru: Miscreants broke into the house of a 73-year-old woman in BEML Layout and escaped with gold ornaments and cash worth over Rs 13 lakh while she was attending yoga class. On returning home, she found the front door ajar and valuables missing.Her daughter told police the incident occurred between 4.25pm and 6pm on March 31. The senior citizen, who lives alone, stepped out for her routine evening yoga class on the nearby Ganesh Temple premises in Sharadha Colony. She locked the house at 4.25pm and returned from the class around 6pm.When she found the main door ajar, she checked inside to find 130 grams of gold ornaments — bangles, chains, rings — missing along with a pearl necklace worth Rs 13 lakh and Rs 25,000 in cash.Police suspect the thieves were aware of the woman’s daily routine and took advantage of her absence to burgle the house.
