Patna: An 11-year-old girl was allegedly raped at a private hospital in Saran district on Friday. On getting information, police arrested the accused compounder, who has been identified as Monu Kumar (28). He had been working as a compounder at the hospital for a long time.According to police, the girl was admitted to the hospital by the family members after she complained of food poisoning. On Friday, when she went to the washroom, the compounder entered the place and committed the crime. After the incident, the girl raised an alarm, following which her family members and other people present in the hospital came to know about the incident.Upon receiving the information, the local police station arrived at the hospital and began an investigation.Saran’s SSP, Vineet Kumar, said: “As soon as the matter came to our notice, we immediately arrested the accused and registered a case at the local police station based on the statement of the girl’s family members. Case has been lodged against the accused under Sections 65(2), 351(2)(3), 354 of the BNS and serious sections of the Pocso Act.”The SSP said the police sealed the hospital to collect scientific evidence. Police have also seized the girl’s clothes and other important evidence. Medical examination of both the victim and the accused has been conducted at the sadar hospital, he said.The SSP said a speedy trial will be conducted in the case to ensure strictest possible punishment to the accused.
