Kendrapada: A 28-year-old man from Jagatsinghpur district died allegedly by suicide on Thursday night after his girlfriend declined to marry him, police said.The deceased was identified as Rakesh Das of Narayanpur village under Naugaon police station limits. Family members said they found his room locked from inside on Friday morning. On peeping through a window, they noticed him hanging from the ceiling fan. He was rushed to the community health centre at Naugaon, where doctors declared him dead.Police recovered a suicide note from the spot in which the youth reportedly cited his decision to end his life following his girlfriend’s refusal to marry him, said IIC, Naugaon, Debashis Panda. The body was seized and sent to the district headquarters hospital at Jagatsinghpur for postmortem. “The exact cause of death will be ascertained after the autopsy report is received,” the police officer said.
