Hyderabad: Stepping into Kerala’s political arena, Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday launched a sharp attack on both the BJP and the ruling Left, drawing a striking parallel between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan.Addressing the United Democratic Front (UDF) manifesto release event in Kochi, he said that both India and Kerala are being governed by what he termed “Modi brothers.” Revanth said that Vijayan has been in power in Kerala for nearly a decade, likening it to former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s governance in Telangana from 2014 to 2023. He compared the two regimes, alleging family rule, corruption, administrative failure and poor governance. He said the ‘dark era’ of CM Vijayan was nearing its end and expressed confidence that a ‘golden era’ under the UDF would soon begin. In a veiled reference to the Sabarimala gold controversy, he alleged that even sacred property in ‘god’s own country’ is not being adequately protected. ‘Political shift imminent’Drawing parallels with Telangana’s political shift in 2023, Revanth said a similar change was imminent in Kerala and voiced confidence that the people would vote out the Vijayan govt. He also challenged UDF’s political rivals to visit Telangana to witness the implementation of the six guarantees and the Congress govt’s governance model. He offered to personally demonstrate how these schemes have been rolled out during a visit by a delegation from Kerala. Responding to scepticism over the feasibility of implementing UDF guarantees in Kerala, Revanth said: “Telangana state serves as a role model and is the definitive answer to such scepticism.” He said that the Congress govt in Telangana began implementing its guarantees from the very first cabinet meeting and highlighted the waiver of ₹21,000 crore in farm loans, benefiting 2.5 million farming families. ‘Nee Po mone Vijayan’In response to questions from reporters, he said: “Nee po mone Vijayan” (Go away, Vijayan). Quoting a popular Malayalam film dialogue to target Vijayan, he alleged that the CM’s “time is over”. He asserted that the UDF would inform people about central funds, stating these are not acts of charity from PM Modi but rightful entitlements. Referring to the Telangana Rising Vision Document-2047, Revanth said the state aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047, adding that Telangana is maintaining a growth rate of 10.8% without increasing taxes.
