Kanpur: Kanpur Metro is set to commence test-runs on downline of Corridor-1 Balance Section (Kanpur Central to Naubasta) shortly. The installation of the third rail on the ‘downline’ of this section has been completed and it was charged for the first time on Thursday, after which continuous power supply to the system will be maintained. Managing director of Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation Limited, Sushil Kumar, said, “With the commencement of test-runs, preparations for extending passenger services from Kanpur Central to Naubasta have reached the final stage.”Passenger services are currently operational on IIT to Kanpur Central stretch of Corridor-1. Testing process is underway on the ‘up-line’ of the Balance section (Kanpur Central to Naubasta). tnn
