Gandhinagar: Gujarat has officially secured its position among the top five states in India for MSME Udyam registrations, the state government announced on Wednesday. Highlighting the state’s robust industrial ecosystem, officials confirmed that more than 30 lakh MSME units have now completed their formal registration process. Notably, the districts of Ahmedabad and Surat have earned spots among the top ten districts nationwide with the highest number of registered small and medium enterprises.To bolster this growth, the state is prioritizing timely financial support for local industries. An official statement revealed that since February 2026, the government has approved 5,094 claim applications from various MSME units. This swift administrative action has resulted in the disbursement of Rs 2,310 crore in financial assistance. This strategic push aims to streamline credit flow and ensure that Gujarat’s entrepreneurial sector remains a primary driver of the regional economy, providing a significant boost to infrastructure, employment, and the overall “Ease of Doing Business” in the state.
