Ara: Amid the ongoing conflict in West Asia, a high-level district review meeting on essential commodities, public services and the welfare of migrant workers was held on Wednesday at the Bhojpur collectorate auditorium.The meeting was chaired by additional chief secretary (home) and in-charge secretary of Bhojpur, Arvind Kumar Chaudhary. Bhojpur DM Tanai Sultania informed that LPG supply to engineering colleges, govt residential schools, Didi Ki Rasoi units and industrial establishments remains normal, with no disruption in cylinder availability across the district. He also said that adequate stocks of fertilisers are available and briefed the ACS on the demand–supply position of petrol and diesel, the functioning of district and sub-divisional control rooms, and the grievance redressal mechanism.Taking stock of the situation, ACS Chaudhary directed officials to speed up the expansion of piped natural gas (PNG) connections to reduce dependence on domestic LPG cylinders. He also stressed the need to promote alternative energy options such as coal, ethanol, solar cookers and induction-based appliances to ensure energy security.
